Manufacturing Aids

In addition to its heavy manufacturing and detection capabilities, MAMCO enlists the help of several pieces of key equipment that aid in the custom injection molding process. Following is a list of items and programs that have boosted MAMCO's presence to a global arena among molders.
  • Sprue Pickers - A sprue picker is yet another device used on the manufacturing floor to aid the molding process. The robotic sprue picker basically removes runners and/or molded product near the end of the molding process.
  • Bowl Insert Systems - MAMCO's bowl insert system is an air-flow orientation system that enables engineers to put metal stampings in the correct location on molds, enabling operators to more easily grab the devices.
  • MeltFlipper® Technology - MeltFlipper® technology flips the flow of material to maintain the melt viscosity and create a balanced multi-cavity mold.
  • RJG Mold Pressure Transducers/Decoupled Molding - RJG mold pressure transducers use pressure-sensing buttons to better control the molding process. Buttons are strategically placed to detect when a fill ends and trigger the diversion of a molded part.
  • Secondary Operations - MAMCO uses a variety of secondary operations to complement its manufacturing capabilities. Those operations include (but are not limited to) ultra-sonic welding, pad printing, hot stamping, forming, post molding insert placement, and loose piecing.
  • Photoelectric Controls/Sensors - Photoelectric controls and sensors are used to find the location of a product prior to a mold closing. These controls help to count products on a strip-molded project.
  • Light Curtains - To ensure safety on the manufacturing floor, MAMCO uses light curtains - basically, a through-beam safety device that protects employees from coming too close to movable equipment.
  • Material Reprocessing - Once molding is complete, MAMCO has several methods of reprocessing certain unused material. This includes material grinding, in which processed material is basically broken back down. Pelletizing takes reground material and reprocesses it into uniform pellets for a more controlled process. And material moisture analyzing is employed to measure the amount of moisture in the material to ensure that it dries properly.
