MAMCO Names Zuk as Purchasing ManagerMAMCO, a leading supplier of custom-manufactured injection molded components, has appointed Andrew Zuk as Purchasing Manager. Zuk will oversee all aspects of the company’s purchasing and work closely with vendors in acquiring the latest technology in the manufacturing of plastic components. “The biggest challenge will be keeping up with the technology that’s out there,” said Zuk . “try to cut costs through automation packages and better machinery, and sometimes, in the long run it may be cheaper to pay more for equipment we feel will serve us better.”A native of Upstate New York, Zuk is no stranger to MAMCO, where he previously worked for 26 years in a variety of positions, including production manager, head of machine maintenance, and lead process engineer. He left the company two years ago to lend his machinery knowledge to a $20 million county-municipal composting facility project. Zuk said he believes his previous roles in different departments at MAMCO will serve him well as purchasing manager, since he has had hands-on experience with the company’s molding presses, processing and state-of-the-art quality vision systems. Much of his time will be spent researching product lines and getting the best prices for the best equipment available. “If we can get the best price, obviously we can quote lower,” Zuk said. “seen the company’s high and low spots over the years. I believe we’re well positioned for a good future.”
